Akira Baba is a Professor at Faculty of Engineering, Niigata University, Japan, since 2020. He received his Ph.D. in electrical and electronic engine ering at Niigata University, Japan in 1999. In 1999, he joined the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow. Then, he worked at National University of Singapore in the Department of Materials Science for half a year. After a short stay at University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003, he moved to the University of Houston, Department of Chemistry where he worked as research associate staff. His research interest involves developments of surface sensitive techniques, nanofabrication and analysis of organic thin films/biomolecules, and their optoelectronic applications.
